Established in 1997, the Challenged Athletes Foundation recognizes the athletic greatness inherent in all people with physical challenges and supports their athletic endeavors by providing unparalleled sports opportunities that lead to success in sports — and in life. High costs of adaptive sports equipment and lack of resources should not keep individuals with physical disabilities from being active. Challenged Athletes Foundation's vision is to be a recognized leader in a movement through which athletes with physical disabilities are accepted and respected at the same level as able-bodied athletes, to have a great and significant impact on each athlete with a physical disability served, and to reach out to the community of athletes with physical disabilities by providing inspiration, awareness and mentoring.
